In June 2010, IMO adopted substantial amendments to the STCW Convention governing seafarers' training. This third edition of the popular ICS Guidelines for shipping companies has been fully revised and updated to take account of these changes - the so called 'Manila Amendments'. As well as taking account of technical developments, these changes to STCW include new training requirements for leadership and teamwork, enhanced refresher training for qualified seafarers, new competence standards for tanker personnel and for the new grade of Able Seafarer (Deck and Engine), and new requirements for maintaining records of ratings' training. The ICS Guidelines should be read by anyone connected with the employment and training of merchant seafarers. The 2010 amendments also introduced major changes to IMO regulations concerning seafarers' minimum rest hours applying from 2012.

The MS SeaReader platform is accessible to individuals as well as shipping companies. It provides a digital technical library on board or in the office. The books are in PDF format. They are always available and constantly kept up to date.

The publications are displayed in a digital format that is quick and efficient to navigate whether the user is online or offline. It is a flexible system and can be moved from device to device seamlessly. The catalogue offers an easy overview of the publications with an optimized search filter.

The software is Windows-only, and Macs are not supported.

Once purchased, we cannot accept returns.

The digital library is easy to access and update and you don’t need to be online to access the publications. SeaReader makes compliance inspections easy by having the latest mandatory publications on board at all times.
The shipping costs and administration associated with maintaining a paper library are removed - there are no physical books to ship and the entire library is updated with the click of a button.

SeaReader contains Flag State Regulations from Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Canada, Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Denmark, Hong Kong, Isle of Man, Liberia, Malta, Marshall Islands, Netherlands, Norway, Panama, Singapore, United Kingdom, USA and Red Ensign Group. Included e-books from IMO, Brown, Son & Ferguson, Imray, and a growing list of other maritime publishers.

SeaReader is a digital technical catalogue for use on board vessels. It stores all of the publications that are needed on board and displays them in a digital format that is fast and easy to use.

SeaReader keeps the administrative work on board to a minimum as the latest set of publications are always available.
The easy to use system makes it quick and easy to see what books are on board the vessel. One annual licence provides access to paid for ebooks on two separate PCs.

SeaReader is simple, very easy and intuitive to use. With one-click updating and filtered search results, it is quick and easy to find the information you need. There is no need for additional work to make sure your vessel is flag state compliant, as SeaReader does this for you.
